Emma Passchier (4E) in the finals of the TTO Young Writer of the Year Awards
Emma Passchier was selected as one of the eight national finalists in this year’s Young Writer’s GNE Award competition which was organised for TTO students by NUFFIC. This is the first year that Dalton Den Haag participated in the competition and eight students, from 3E and 4E, submitted an argumentative essay on one of the six essay topics.
Ingrid de Beer, chief judge, commented on how difficult it was to make a selection of finalists from the seventy submissions due to the high standard of work. She said that the judges had been ‘inspired, entertained, educated, moved and privileged’ to read the entries which dealt with a number of social issues.
Although Emma did not win the competition, all of the finalists will be invited for an afternoon tea at the residency of the British Ambassador in The Hague.
Congratulations to Emma for this achievement and well done to all the students who participated.
