NUFFIC recently organised a national TTO creative writing competition to celebrate a new initiative – Week of the TTO Student and three pupils from BE, Ziya Kwaaitaal, Raha Najl Hossaini and Jip van der Zwaart were chosen as the winners.
A NUFFIC representative visited Dalton on Monday 10 May to personally present the winners with their prizes. Ms Doornik explained that the competition was very popular and that there were many excellent entries, however, Ziya, Raha and Jip’s Diary of a Wimpy TTOer was chosen as the best because it was very creative, was beautifully illustrated and reflected a typical day in the life of a TTOer. TTO is very pleased for and proud of our winners as well as all of the other Dalton TTO students who put so much time, energy and creativity into their competition entries. Within school a second competition was held for each lower school TTO class and the winners from BE were: Asi Dogan, Justine Eskinasi, Sorcha Hogan, Maja Saldan, Ceder van Lent and Jip Compagne with a fantastic film showcasing the best of TTO life at Dalton. From 2E Moos Iwema won for an impressive vlog and in 3E Mila Jespers wrote a very creative short story.
