Finally, the International Baccalaureate in English Language and Literature graduates from 2020 as well the graduates of 2021 could receive their certificates in the soos in front of their family and friends.
Not only did the class of 2021 have to bear the trying times of COVID and losing their regular teacher but the IB introduced a brand-new programme: There were no practice papers, and the teachers were also teaching it for the very first time.
There were a few worrying moments but the whole class passed with great grades.
Students reached the highest grade for Essays, Orals and the written paper – no mean feat.
Before the IB certificates, the CAE certificates were handed out to this year’s 5IB. Anne McMillan had written a personal speech for each student. It was lovely to hear how students had worked hard and achieved excellent results.
Some students even got full marks for listening, speaking or use of English.
Well done to all the students and their teachers!
