On Friday 12 May, 3E were lucky enough to visit The Great Hall of Justice at the world famous International Court of Justice as part of their study of George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm. The group were given a guided tour of some rooms in the magnificent building and were able to ask questions.
The International Court of Justice is the most important court in the United Nations. It was established in June 1945 and its role is to settle legal disputes between countries. The Court is composed of 15 judges, who serve for nine years. The official languages used at court are English and French.
It was a very enjoyable, interesting and informative visit which everyone enjoyed.
